Vacaville, Solano County
Vacaville lies on Interstate 80 about midway between San Francisco and Sacramento, and travelers have been stopping here for a century. The outlet mall beside the freeway is among the largest in Northern California. The town was founded in 1851 on land bought from Juan Manuel Vaca, whose family name it carries, and its downtown still lines a few blocks along Ulatis Creek.
